OUGD503 Brief 2, Collaborative Practice - The Saucy Fish Co, Research

The saucy fish Co - About them and their brand




















My first impression from the saucy fish co's website is they're fun, vibrant, friendly and exciting. They are definitely targeting a younger audience by using bright and eye catching colours from looking at their products they use a really simple packaging but is also consistent although not pushed through they are definitely environment conscious and animal friendly.

There branding is really strong and powerful and easily recognisable, I definitely think this should stay the same throughout the brief. I strongly believe that there packaging can and will be super exciting there are many opportunities with such a new and hip company.

There opening story is adventurous and sets the scene for there brand...
"Like all good stories, it starts at the end - happily ever after. The girl gets the guy, the fish gets the sauce. They’re amazing together. Sauce and fish - the dynamic duo - have rescued many a troubled tea-time. We’ve united the world in a love of saucy fish. Well, almost."

Their ethos:
Because the fish comes first. We care about our craft. We‘re passionate about our product, and all the things that go into it. We love fish, and we want everyone to have the chance to enjoy it. Not just you lot, the next generation too. There may be plenty more fish in the sea, but if we want to keep eating the tasty ones, we have to get serious. So we’re really clear about where our fish comes from and how it’s caught. For example our cod fillets come from the North Atlantic, Salmon from Norway or Scotland, and fresh Tuna from the Maldives and Sri Lanka. All our farmed fish is sourced from farms that have been certified to an independent standard and checked by our own rigorous criteria.

Who does The Saucy Fish Co cater for?

It is clear from their market it is targeted at a higher market most of these stores are classified as expensive and luxurious the packaging definitley needs to be of substance and quality to stand up in these stores.

The current packaging is simple and bold, this packaging could be improved to represent the brand more effectively, to really make this pop off the shelfs. I will research into packaging design.
