Our magnets are approximately 40mm x 70mm this we felt was the most appropriate side we didn't want these to be too small or too big to mock these up we will be using adhesive magnet strips on a good quality stock.

OUGD503 Brief 2, Collaborative Practice - Fridge Magnets
Using our colour guide we have created fish and saying magnets as extra collateral and gifts for the purchasers of saucy fish co. creating a personal interaction there will be many to collect enticing users to keep buying and trying to get all the magnets.
Our magnets are approximately 40mm x 70mm this we felt was the most appropriate side we didn't want these to be too small or too big to mock these up we will be using adhesive magnet strips on a good quality stock.

OUGD503 Brief 2,Collaborative Practice - Colour guideline and Exploration, And Refined Fish Name
These colours are brief outline of what we will be using for our packaging we will be limiting ourselves to 3 colour per packaging including stock, this will keep our design uncomplicated easy on the eye but also eye catching and bright, Our chose colours are neon based because we would ideally like to print onto black (Screen) keeping with the current saucy fish co branding guidelines it also adds a level of sophistication and luxury.
Crispy Thai Cod w/ Herb & Lemongrass butter sauce – orange, yellows, green, white
Crispy Sea bream w/ Tomato and Coriander filling - reds, white
Crispy Salmon filled with Feta, Spinach & Ricotta – pinks, creams, greens
OUGD503 Brief 2, Collaborative Practice - Initial Ideas for Packaging
For this week I drew up some quick sketches of how our packaging should look, today we will be meeting up to share each others ideas so we can start to define and develop.
My first idea/layout is to be quite simple and straight forward with a flourish of significance, for each fish I would like to have a set colour so that the consumer can identify which is what fish easily without even reading. This will be good encouragement for engagement.
My next idea is inspires by our experimental brushos I would use this as the background again with the simple layout, the reason being for simplicity is because the actual structure of the packaging is strong enough without extra flourishes all i want to do now is compliment the actual design.
Another of my idea is to engage with users further by using a QR code which links you to further information and cooking instructions because our target audience is young this should be easy to use and also better for the environment by using less inks.
In total I have drawn 8 ideas these 3 I believe are my strongest ideas and would like to present these to the group.

OUGD503 Brief 2, Collaborative Practice - Creating a net and more idea mapping
In this weeks meet we did some group initial ideas at this point we had already determined and defined what idea we wanted to take forward,we decided to do more ideas after Cameron had a crit with Simon he said we need to not outrule any designs until definite. So we began to sketch up some ideas this was really beneficial because we found an ingenious way of presenting our fish, which Amy came up with!
After the drawing stage I created a net for us to test both the practibility and strength of the packaging sleeve the intention is for the sleeve to show the product with a semi transparent coloured film on one half exactly like the saucy fish co's current logo but with a twist…
After the drawing stage I created a net for us to test both the practibility and strength of the packaging sleeve the intention is for the sleeve to show the product with a semi transparent coloured film on one half exactly like the saucy fish co's current logo but with a twist…
After conferring we all decided this was the most creative and practical option we had come up with yet , so I created a sheet with several of the nets for us to individually over the course of next week to create some designs for the sleeve. At the next meet on Wednesday we will be developing our designs.

OUGD503 Brief 1, Secret 7 - Experimentation/Development
Using brush I tried to replicate the feeling of worry and unease I feel this is a really relevant and appropriate medium as feelings are often indescribable and hectic abit like my 2 experiments.
From these I added details influenced by the first initial lyric "My nights are broken up by the sounds of women I’ll never meet" I used a fine liner to create unique sound waves create by the flow of the ink.
My next developed idea is of the half moon also mentioned in the lyrics, although simple the facial structure hidden in my half moon is not obvious enough it is suggested I work on this silhouette to create a strong outline and iconography.
Again similarly inspired by the first line in Jack's lyrics I created a wave inspired by Joy division although this is too much like Joy Divisions album cover so I think I will scrap this idea because I am struggling to find a definitive style. The 2nd one also a variation this works much better it is less like the Joy division album cover and speaks for itself. I feel these are my least strongest developed ideas.
I intend to finalise the top 2 ideas for my submission as these are my strongest ideas/concepts I feel the last idea is too lacking in terms of concept and depth.
OUGD503 Brief 1, Secret 7 - Lyrics analysis
"Worry"
My nights are broken up by the sounds of women I’ll never meet
And when my eyes are closed I can start to feel you staring at me
The right side of my bed has always left me feeling stuck in between (Oh, oh, oh, oh)
Everything I know and all the lies I tell myself so I can sleep
Pick apart the pieces you left
Don’t you worry about it, don’t you worry about it
Try and give yourself some rest
And let me worry about it, let me worry about it
You came around to say that you’ve been away, like I hadn’t known
As if I don’t wake up every single day not seeing you go
As if this moon of ours only shines a half to make me feel whole
As if I haven’t felt your breath in every step I take when the wind blows
Pick apart the pieces you left
Don’t you worry about it, don’t you worry about it
Try and give yourself some rest
And let me worry about it, let me worry about it
[x2]
(Oh, oh, oh, oh) (worry)
(Oh, oh, oh, oh) (worry)
(Oh, oh, oh, oh) (worry)
(Oh, oh, oh, oh) (worry)

Initially I get the sense of both insomnia and guilt his lyrics start with a worrying yet questioning start what does he mean by "My nights are broken up by the sounds of women I’ll never meet" does that mean he is worried about the problems of women such as current goings on like rape, syria, muttilliation?
Moving from then it changes rapidly does it mean that he is now concerned about a love? that left the song is really confusing and indeed worrying because of not knowing. This idea of not knowing adds to the worry of the audience and him!

OUGD503 Brief 2, Collaborative Practice - Structural Packaging Research
This week we met twice to discuss our further development, in the firs session we experimented and created nets, cameron printed off some nets and we had a go at making them although this was extremely difficult I was only able to do it! These net we tried would be extremely difficult to reproduce but by experimenting this we figured out what and which packaging we will be doing for our final design.
We decided on two packaging ideas to pursue, both with a similar setting. The first being a sustainable plastic (which is also recyclable) that is oven proof, it would then have a thin cellophane top to seal in the fish which can then be disposed of this will contain the details of the fish. The plastic tray can then be placed straight in the oven. The other packaging is of a similar idea but packaged in a card box, the heat proof plastic tray can then be pulled and again placed straight into the oven.
In the next session we decided to create a product for us to design for because wewish to do a set we created 3 recipes as follows, while doing this we also consider what to put on the actual packaging and what is very necessary;
In our discussion we detailed ingredients, dates and instructions and plenty more. Our 3 products are...
1. Cod with herb and lemongrass butter sauce coated in a crispy breaded crumb.
2. Sea Bream with tomato and coriander filling with a pine nut and bread crumb coating.
3. Salmon filled with spinach, feta and ricotta coated with a seed crisp
