OUGD503 Brief 1, JohnLewis - Report 2015 Update

Since blogging about the 2014 John Lewis Report, they have since recently updated there report for the last year 2015 this will be inparticuarly resourceful and useful towards how I should pick, direct and aim for this brief especially towards such as what range I should begin to design for.
Although I have chosen some strong ideas and concepts this will help shape and influence the development of my work.

Highlighted here are clearly some of the most best selling products of the year and even trends, although helpful I am interested in the facts and the figures of the sales.

Since 2013 there has been a massive increase of 18% usage of the John Lewis website this indicates a movement towards technology.

So how do we shop? Well according to this diagram it is predicted majority of our shopping is now done online and delivered straight to our home, the rise of technology will soon overtake the sales of stores if we are not too careful this could be a downfall to small stores.

One thing in highlighted in the book particular that I noticed was the positive fluctuation of occasion wear such as suits and ball gowns this could be good route to follow if it is a grossing market.

On one of the last pages John Lewis have had a guess at what is to come into the worlds future, Virtual reality is currently kicking off but not quite accessible yet to the general public this could possibly be the future of gaming and technology, this has inspired my idea for a game app idea window design. Another thing that stuck out to me was the 70s - this style and era of fashion is making a come back 2nd time round John Lewis believe this is here to stay this year and will heavily influence our clothe and home furnishing designs.

This guide is full of information which is highly useful to know such as the internet usages increase and the possible direction of the shoppers future I defiantly intend to bear this in mind when developing my ideas.
