OUGD503 - Brief 1, John Lewis - Gift Tag Research/Ideas/Outcome

To show my campaign will be able to be used both instore and out I have decided to create a simple and effective gift tag for products so that the theme can be consistently be applied throughout.

Looking at other gift tags it is clear what information needs to be applied such as the barcode, price and product name, often this is stuck on the tag after print. A lot of tags also are clear and add to the product rather than compete. I believe the most important thing is the brand, theme. Alongside that it should be really uncomplicated so it easy to read.






My ideas for a product tag!



From my product research I experimented digitally to create my tag similarly to the voucher designs, I decided to go with the tag with the game pattern from the shop window this means the tag can be easily printed commercially and also cost effectively, the intention is to use recycled card to reduce the impact on the planet - by reducing john lewis carbon footprint it adds to john lewis' already environmental scheme, John Lewis currently recycles batteries in store!
